This week’s featured farmer is Texas Olive Ranch. Texas Olive Ranch is located between Carrizo Springs and Asherton on FM 1557. You can’t miss it. There’s a big sign on the fence that says Texas Olive Ranch, a waving Texas flag, and 40,000 beautiful olive trees. The 100% Pure Texas Extra Virgin Olive Oil is pressed from arbequina variety olives grown at the ranch. The arbequina variety was developed in Spain and is especially suitable for growing in the sandy loam soil of the Middle Rio Grande Valley, where the climate is very similar to southern Spain. In addition to the arbequina variety, we grow two other varieties: arbosana, also Spanish in origin; and koroneiki, a Greek variety. Please visit http://texasoliveranch.com/about.html for more information.
According to local meteorologists, tomorrow is expected to be a day full of the much needed rain that Sugar Land and the surrounding area missed out on this past summer. Despite the rain, our farmers and vendors will be on site bright and early to serve all of your cooking, baking, crafting, and shopping needs.
So grab your umbrella, put the kids in their raincoats and galoshes, and head on out to the Farmers Market at Imperial. We’ll be waiting for you!
Spring is right around the corner! Can you believe it’s already March? This year is going by so fast, pretty soon we’ll all be wondering where it went.

The weather in Texas can be unpredictable. In fact, Sugar Land and the surrounding area are known for the abrupt changes in the weather. One day it might be sunny with a cool breeze passing by and the next it can be overcast and muggy. Still, the unpredictability of the weather isn’t a reason to put your life on hold. Errands need to be run, groceries need to be picked up, and we still have to make time for our family and friends. Here at The Farmers Market at Imperial, we want you to know that our market is open every Saturday from 9am until 1pm, come rain or shine. So, don’t let unpredictable weather interrupt or change your plans–we’ll be here waiting for you either way!
