Plans for the Farmers Market at Imperial Sugar Land are in full swing as a number of growers, vendors and sponsors sign up for the event, set to debut Saturday, October 1 at 198 Kempner near Highway 90 at Highway 6 in front of the Imperial Sugar silos and historic Char House.
A massive covered pavilion at Imperial Sugar Land will be filled with artisans and local growers including the likes of Georgia’s Farm to Market, which will offer shoppers locally raised, grass-fed and natural meats, a selection of gluten and allergy-free items and fresh baked artisan breads.
“We’re pleased with the number of high-caliber vendors already sign up to participate and the list keeps growing,” says Keri Schmidt, president of the Fort Bend Chamber.
In addition to the growing number of vendors, the ten-week event has attracted additional sponsors: Enchanted Forest and Enchanted Gardens, two family-owned and operated plant nurseries located in Richmond. The Farmers Market at Imperial is presented by the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce.
“We are thrilled to be involved in such a wonderful endeavor. With the history of Imperial and the endless possibilities the City of Sugar Land has to offer, this will be a great family and community experience,” said Judy Jones, owner of Enchanted Forest nursery. “We can’t wait to meet more of our neighbors!”
